How To Distinguish Authentic Coach Bags From Fake Coach Purses

Online shopping has given us great opportunities to buy the items we want and need at very good prices. It’s a shame that with all the good things people find a way to take advantage of others.

Selling Coach products online is big business. If you are looking to buy a Coach product online, you need to do your homework before making the purchase. You want to make sure that the money you are paying is for an authentic coach bag, not a fake coach bag.

Here are some tips to help you buy the real deal.

Tip No. 1: C pattern design

If your bag has ‘c’ or ‘cc’ style stitching, you can use this pattern to inspect for authenticity. Look at the bag to verify the following.

to. Pattern c should go up and down.

B. The pattern will be centered on the front and back panel of the bag.

vs. The stitching will go straight through the ‘c’ or ‘cc’ pattern without cutting the letters.

D. Look at some pictures online of the pattern c in the style of bag you want to buy.

There must be consistency with the pattern.

Tip No. 2: leather label with serial number

There is a serial number that exists on most real Coach purses that begins with ‘No’ found on the inside stitched onto a leather tag. There is no leather tag on some of the smaller authentic purse sizes. These styles would include the clutch, swingback, and mini. I have also seen fakes that have the stitched label beginning with a No followed by a serial number. However, when the fake label is compared to the real one, the quality of the leather and printing is obvious, which one is real. The words on the tag must also be capitalized.

Tip No. # 3: get to know the real deal

I suggest you visit the actual Coach store retailers to start learning for yourself what an authentic Coach bag looks and feels like. Pay attention to the appearance of the leather, the lining, the zipper, the stitching and the leather label. As you become more familiar with real Coach bags, you will more easily recognize a fake.

Tip No. # 4: poor craftsmanship – leather is assembled

See the stitching on the bag. Stitches of different widths or with threads coming out of the seam are a great way to spot an imitation. On a real Coach bag, the stitching is flawless.

Tip No. 5: coach style

To be a true Coach bag it must be a Coach style. This one can be a bit tricky as Coach releases new styles throughout the year. I see the internet as a great way to help you determine if the style you are viewing is a royal style. Ask your question on a forum or blog and learn from others.

Tip No. 6: zipper

Inspect the bag’s zipper. In a poor imitation of Coach, you can simply tell the difference by looking at the zipper. A Coach bag will use a zipper engraved with “YKK”. Look for the engraving. If you’re still unsure, zip the bag a few times to see how well it closes.

Tip # 7: C not G

I think this should go without saying, but it’s worth mentioning as it must be working for some people. The Coach brand begins with a ‘c’ and not a ‘g’. It’s incredibly silly to me, but some Coach knockoffs have a ‘g’ or ‘gg’ stitching, not a ‘c’ or ‘cc’.

Tip # 8: Pack

I have seen some auctions with photos of wallets with plastic wrapped handles. To my knowledge, this would also be a sign of a fake Coach wallet.

Tip No. # 9 – Read the About Us or Seller Information section

Retail websites that just don’t say what they are selling usually sell counterfeits. Read about the retailer. Do a Google search on the retailer to see if people are satisfied with the service.

If you are looking to buy on eBay, buy from someone who has a great track record in selling Coach wallets. eBay does not allow sellers to sell counterfeits and monitors this issue, but sellers can still go unnoticed.

Do your homework so you can enjoy an authentic Coach bag at a great price. Happy shopping!
