The first fact about Malcolm X

Laura, heartbroken at being dumped by another woman, never went back to the pharmacy while she was at school.

But years later, Laura meets Malcolm again, but this time Malcolm is a cold-blooded con man who has a pimp friend named Sammy.

Malcolm and Sammy use a technique on Laura that Sammy has perfected that turns innocent girls into prostitutes.

In Malcolm X’s autobiography, he gives a graphic picture of what Laura becomes after she is kicked out.

“Laura she is in and out of jail because of the drugs she sells to men to support her habit. Later, hating the men who use her, she becomes a lesbian. I blame myself for this and jilting her for a white woman makes this a double crime.

The second and most disturbing fact about Malcolm X

After Malcolm becomes a minister for the Nation of Islam, he never locates Laura and helps her through the Nations of Islam’s drug rehab program, which was quickly becoming nationally recognized as the best.

However, not once does Malcolm X mention trying to find and rescue Laura in his autobiography.

He goes to great lengths to try to find two ex-con men who once tried to kill him, Sammy who later in the story tried to kill Malcolm because another woman was already dead before Malcolm was paroled and Archie from the West Indies, who threatened to kill him. he for money he was sick and lived in a pension.

But no recorded attempt was ever made to rescue poor Laura, the only person Alex Haley ever named in a chapter.
