In our 45th episode of Madness Chronicles, we’ll take a look at the madness sweeping through our college campuses. Remember, insanity is a state of serious mental illness, extremely foolish behavior, and a frantic or chaotic form of activity. Let’s take a look at the craziness on campus.
A young woman from the University of Dallas had a rude awakening. She applied for an internship through a service linked to major corporations, but was turned down. Her rejection was not due to her course of study or her GPA, which was fine. She was denied because she was white. That is becoming a no-no today.
At UCLA, a teacher who works with his 6th-12th grade schools identified white males as a problem. Wellness director Ross Szabo said white students have mental health issues related to their sexuality. He was referring to an initiative started under the Obama administration. President-elect Joe Biden said, “Supporters of due process in campus sexual misconduct proceedings are like the ‘Nazis’ who marched in Charlottesville in 2017. Ouch.
In Missouri, a mother is suing her daughter’s Catholic girls’ school for false imprisonment. Her daughter, a senior, refused to attend a critical race theory class. The director made her sit in the office for 90 minutes. And then the black students were allowed in and Harris was allowed in because of her lack of involvement. It seems that being white is a growing problem in our society in 2020.
A white professor at the University of South Florida is in trouble. He had the nerve to tweet that “black privilege is real.” That got him a petition campaign that got 35,000 signatures for him to be fired. And of course, Black Lives Matter materialized, demanding that he be fired during his riots. The university intends to fire him for misconduct in the classroom. You can’t tell the truth anymore.
The San Diego Unified School District (CA) has recently taken the madness to new heights. The Administration has ruled that all white teachers must undergo “white privilege” training before resuming classes in the District. Let that sink in… only white teachers should attend. It seems they want to beat every ounce of respect from the white teachers in San Diego.
At Smith College, where anger is expected, a college administrator painted a huge target on his back complaining that the work environment was anti-white. The university’s alumni responded immediately, demanding that she be fired from her job. Of course, maybe she asked for it. She was told not to perform a rap she was planning to fulfill a “crazy” application requirement for a full-time library position: the sheer nerve of wanting to rap when she was white.
At the University of Wisconsin at Madison, a stone was found to be similarly racist. You read that right, a rock. It appears that the 70-ton rock that has graced the campus for over a century is black. It is Chamberlain black rock historically from a nearby quarry. But the Negro Student Association found the rock racist when a 1925 newspaper article noted at the time that it was called N—head Rock, a common term at the time. Rock could not be reached for comment. The university has said it will cost between $30,000 and $50,000 to remove.
Brandeis University in Boston is the first to offer a ‘whites only’ space. The purpose is for students to stop and examine the materials provided to help them become aware of their privilege. The course is six weeks long and the University’s Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion hopes it will help whites become anti-racist.
Wouldn’t you like to be able to invent these things instead of living them? It’s insanity at its finest, with a lot of insanity thrown in for good measure.
