Planning a Valentine’s Getaway

Valentine’s is the perfect time for a romantic getaway or weekend getaway. This romance holiday falls on a Sunday this year; perfect for a 3 day romantic vacation. With love in the air and proper planning, this will be the perfect gift for your sweetie!

The key to planning is to prepare a few things in advance. You have about 3 weeks to put everything together.

1.) The first thing is to decide where you and your honeymoon group would love to go. If you are a follower of this website, you will know that I am a great defender of accommodation in the mountains. There’s just something about a cabin getaway that says “romance.” Imagine, being snuggled up with the person you love the most along with nature, sitting in front of a warm fireplace. Ah, there is nothing better than that!

2.) Tie up any loose ends before you go on your date with Cupid! You don’t want to have to worry about work, checking email, or worrying about housework or kids while you’re away.

3.) If you’re thinking of taking your partner out to a nice restaurant, be sure to make reservations in advance. In fact, I’d say put this on your “To Do List” for this week.

4.) Choose the special items that you are going to take with you. For women, I would suggest packing some new lingerie and choosing a new fragrance to take with you. For men, I recommend wearing sexy underwear and also buying new cologne.

5.) Think Romance: Pack your love, your coupons, a bottle of champagne, massage oils, scented candles, rose petals, soft music, etc.

Note to men: if you really want to surprise her, make advance arrangements to have a bouquet of roses, chocolate covered strawberries and a card with a beautiful poem in the cabin upon arrival.
