Love is everything and without it, no human being can truly survive or live happily. You can have all the money in the world and think that you can be happy but that is far from the truth. Love helps define us, as individuals, and taking away love is taking away a part of ourselves that can help us live a healthy life. We need people around us who care about us, it’s ingrained in our DNA. We do things for others in the hope that they will appreciate us as people and love us in return. This result does not always happen as many live a very selfish life and take advantage of the many who live a selfless life. Don’t expect others to change into a loving person because you are. They have probably lived in a very dysfunctional home where love was not present and built their conscious mind around the concept of non-existent love. It is very difficult to train these minds to love again.
I’m sure it can be hard to always help those in need, especially when they never return the favor. This is the problem of society. People will say, “I’ve been helping him or her for years without being helped in times of need. Why should I even bother?” You definitely have to judge if that person is here solely to take advantage of you whenever possible OR if he helps you in other ways. You need to find out the nature of the help that you can comfortably provide. Some may not have the financial means to help you, but if they contribute to helping you in another way, they are definitely worth helping again. Here it is not about a dollar for a dollar, it is how the other person can offer her help in a time of need that should be considered valuable. Don’t waste your time with vampires feeding on you until you’re dry and then go feeding on other unsuspecting victims. There are them all around you, just keep your eyes open for these predators. Avoid becoming like them, but also make sure to protect yourself at all costs. Live your life the way you see fit and always remember that people will never forget the help you offered them in times of need. This is considered as a very valuable trait, especially in today’s society.
