How to renew your passport at the UK Embassy in Thailand

UK passport holders who are in Thailand when their passports expire will need to go to the British Embassy in Bangkok to renew their passports and allow around ten (10) working days for processing.

The British Embassy in Thailand is located at Wireless Road, Lumpini, Pathumwan in Bangkok, and accepts applications for UK passport renewals from 9:00am to 11:00am.

Processing of passport renewals is strictly on a first-come, first-served basis. This means that requests are processed precisely in the order in which they are received.

In general, the procedure is similar, whether for a renewal, replacement or first-time application for a UK passport.

Applicants over the age of sixteen (16) must complete the C1 form.

Embassy officials will not accept the application and may reject it outright if the applicant does not complete it correctly.

The applicant must write their initials in the small box provided on each page of the C1 application form. If the applicant was unable to write, she must provide a letter from a responsible person to confirm the reason the applicant is unable to write.

The applicant must bring the following requirements

– Completed application form

– Valid passport

Upon submission of the completed C1 application form and the required documents, the applicant must pay the relevant passport fee.

The applicant can renew his passport in person or by mail. If in person, you need to bring the application form, supporting requirements, as well as the fee at the Consular Section of the British Embassy in Bangkok.

However, if the renewal is by post, the application must be accompanied by a money order equal to the amount of the application fee plus an administrative fee of 200 baht, or a money order payable to “British Embassy”.
