Boss Day – October 16

Every year, National Boss Day is on October 16. Most people believe that National Boss Day is just a “Hallmark” holiday and not to be taken seriously. However, the tradition dates back to 1958, although it has not been widely celebrated until more recent years. Patricia Bays Haroski recorded October 16 as National Boss Day because it was her dad’s birthday, and it just so happened that her dad was her boss!

Boss Day is a day for employees to show their bosses the appreciation they deserve. It is also a day to thank them for the guidance they provide, for helping the company run smoothly, and for managing so many people and tasks. Employees typically give cards, flowers, gifts, or gift baskets, depending on their boss’s personality and hobbies.

Are you trying to find a gift for a boss with a great sense of humor? Desk plaques and coffee mugs with humorous sentiments are always a great find, along with other ways to decorate his cubicle or office. Little toys and fun trinkets go a long way to boosting your boss’s morale… and when the boss’s happy, you’re happy too!

If you’re looking for a more professional gift, you can’t go wrong with a glass paperweight or desk clock. A classy leather wallet or personalized money clip is sure to show your boss how much you appreciate them!

Only you know what will please your boss, so mark your calendars for October 16 and keep an eye out for that perfect gift.
