Gustavo Badell was born on November 3, 1972 in Venezuela. He currently resides in Puerto Rico with his wife and two children. Gustavo is only 5’8″ but weighs onstage at 240lbs. Of course Gustavo must do a clean volume before a contest where his weight can go as high as 270lbs. He still maintains a low body fat during his pre-contest volume , so Gustavo can easily switch from off-season mode to pre-contest mode very easily.
At the age of 15, Gustavo was active in contact sports such as boxing and kickboxing. Two years later, he began to get involved in amateur boxing, but was too skinny to make a name for himself. His trainer suggested that he start lifting weights to gain weight, and then he followed the rigors of intense training. After noticing his great genetics and his arms that were almost too big for his body, his gym mates suggested that he should take up bodybuilding. Gustavo never thought twice!
Gustavo’s bodybuilding career started slowly, but once he found a better rhythm for himself, he became one of the top professional bodybuilders in the IFBB. The following results of the Gustavo Badell contest demonstrate this:
