You Day Spa: a little paradise of pleasure and delight

You Day Spa is tucked away at the back of Collins Place near Spring Street. To get to it, you need to walk towards the back of Collins Place, right near Escape Travel.

You can also get there from the front of the Sofitel hotel, but to get there you have to walk around the back of Collins Place, up the driveway to the hotel entrance.

It is a hidden delight that only a few know exists. She has been pampering and pleasing women and men for more than eight years.

It is a small spa but well worth a visit. It looks like a normal store with big glass windows. When I arrived, the front door was open letting in a cool breeze. There are two manicure tables and the counter.

I was warmly greeted by my therapist Mary, who had a beautiful French accent. I sat in the only wooden chair for customers. I completed the form that all new clients must complete. Thank goodness this one was small compared to the last one I had to complete from another salon.

As I was sitting, I noticed that there was a row of beautiful candles on the floor that stretched the length of the hallway. I love this. I breathed out just looking at them.

My treatment today was a Detox-Thalasso wrap that includes a warm French seaweed that has micronized minerals, vitamins, and enzymes found naturally in the seaweed itself.

I have sensitive skin on my legs and was a little worried that it might irritate me a bit, but I love trying something new and haven’t had a body treatment in a long time, so the wrap was it.

I was shown into the treatment room, which was small and beautifully lit, almost

Romantic. The lighting was dim with candles placed around the room. Very relaxing music was playing in the room. I was totally at peace. it was heaven

Once I was undressed, I lay down between a plastic sheet and a towel on the treatment bed. My therapist took a natural bristle brush and exfoliated my skin by brushing it all over. It was sublime. Who knows!

The French seaweed was then applied. It was very warm and applied all over the body. Then they wrapped me in the plastic sheet all nice and tight. In my mind I thought I was wrapped up as comfortably as a bug in a rug!

Once I was wrapped up, I felt tingling in my lower legs, then started in my upper arms. I was dreading this. The heat from being wrapped in plastic didn’t help. I was not going to complain. I was going to sit or lie.

Mary then asked me if I wanted a facial. I thought so, but I said yes, please. They fitted me with an eye mask and then applied some warm oil to my face and treated me to a sublime facial massage.

The whole time I was doing a quiet dance while my legs started to itch. Once the time was up, Mary told me to get in the shower and wash off the seaweed and then she would reapply my moisturizer.

The shower was equally pleasurable. He was in the corner of the romantically lit room. All that was missing was a bottle of champagne and a man!

I gently washed off the seaweed and then used some of the divine herbal body shower gel. There were quite a few small bottles in there and I thought maybe I should take them. In fact, I scanned the room thinking about what herbal treatments I can save. But then I came to my senses. Better to be good than bad in this case. I can make it up to you later!

I finished my shower and dried myself in a wonderfully luxurious towel. I checked the label to see where it was from, maybe I could find it. I thought maybe it’s Egyptian cotton or maybe made in France. I made a mistake. It was made in China!

Once I was done, I let Mary in and she applied the moisturizer. I thought it would be a cream or maybe an oil, but it was a body spray. It was actually the Pevonia Botanica Dry Oil Body Moisturizer to be exact. It smells like the most beautiful flower garden in the world. She dried, no stickiness.

I had a smile on my face from start to finish. I’m sure my therapist was thinking, ‘What is she taking?’ but I sure as hell had nothing but pure happiness to have such a wonderful treatment.

The only complaint I have about You Day Spa is that it was too short. It was over before it started.

all the staff were wonderful. My therapist Mary was unbelievably good, she had such soft hands and her lovely French accent was wonderful.

I booked my treatment at You Day Spa after a day of meetings. It is in a perfect location and very easy to find. It’s great when the salons are open late.

I highly recommend this spa to anyone. It was a pleasure.
