If your vitamins were sourced and manufactured in China, they are certainly cheaper than vitamins made in the USA, why? That being said, what is the true cost of these vitamins from China? How is it that Chinese manufacturers can source their ingredients, pay their workers, cover all production costs, ship the finished product in a boat that takes six weeks to reach our shores, and then price them, on average, a 25% below the US? supplements made? Why would you spend $ 28 on a product, when you could buy it for $ 12?
Efficiency is the answer. Efficacy is the power to produce the desired effect or desired result. You can buy the cheapest vitamins on the market, but if they don’t work, money is wasted, your health may be at risk, and you can definitely suffer from taking these Chinese-made vitamins. This is not a scare tactic, just information on why we would never buy any ingredients from China to make our vitamins.
FACT: More than half of all American adults are taking vitamins and supplements. Most, if not all, are unaware that they are ingesting vitamins made in China or made with ingredients derived from China.
FACT: The main vitamin exporting province, Zhejiang, has an alarming level of soil contamination by heavy metals.
FACT: China’s irrigation water is a complete nightmare: More than half of the country’s major water bodies are polluted, as are 86 percent of the city’s water bodies. Pollution is largely caused by the country’s many factories, which rarely have equipment to deal with this pollution. Every day, between seventy and 80 percent of the country’s industrial waste is released directly into rivers.
While supplements are not regulated by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration / Vitamins), vitamins made in the USA must comply with FDA – GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) to receive their seal of validation listed on the label. FDA representatives make unannounced visits to manufacturing plants like ours, tour facilities, inspect cleanliness standards, verify labels, and document source ingredients.
