Although stones are no longer used today, wooden plates are still used in some restaurants to go along with the theme. Plastic dishes are more popular today in most households due to their durability, they are cheaper, and they are lighter when washed.
Also, the spoon and fork are usually made of plastic or metal. Plastic spoon and fork, like paper plates, are used at picnics and parties because they are lighter and more convenient. The metal spoon and fork are used at home and in restaurants. Some restaurants don’t provide spoon and fork, either they are Chinese and Japanese restaurants or want their food to be eaten by hand. There is a more modern utensil today that is a spoon and fork combination called a spork. Spork looks more like a spoon but has spikes at the end.
