If you’re thinking of leveling up your mining with your high level character, be sure to consider smelting much of your way to 450. While mining is a great skill, leveling up can take a long time and if you’re not leveling up from leveling casually while leveling up your character, it can become a tedious burden as you run around low level areas looking for minerals. Once you hit 450, be ready to farm ore as that’s what mining is all about, but I’d recommend skipping the lower levels to save time!
Now you may be thinking you don’t have the gold to smelt up to 450 or you may be thinking you can’t even level your mining with smelting up to 450. I’ll let you in on the deal. with these two problems. First of all it doesn’t take that much gold to get to level 450, if you don’t have gold then sure you should go out and mine but you should definitely consider smelting the lower level ores if you have a few hundred gold because it really saves you a long time. Of course, you don’t have to commit to one thing, you can sniff some levels and mine through others.
As for leveling your mining up to 450 with smelting, no you currently can’t do that. However, you can level up to 375 and you only have to mine 10 skill upgrades from skill levels 340-350. At 350, you can smell up to 375, at which point you’ll need to deplete a mine.
