Creed The Office Sitcom Bass Player’s Best Observations

Since the show aired its last episode nearly five years ago, both the actor and his fictional character have reunited with their former band. In fact, the group simply played most of their classic hits at a local venue, where many in the crowd were much younger than one would expect for a band that had a Top Forty song nearly fifty years ago.

Many of the millennials, I suppose, had attended mainly to see the bass player, who they know as Creed. Became a familiar face while starring The office, a sitcom that ran during the first decade of this century.

Although the role was minor, Creed Bratton had some of the most memorable scenes during the show’s run. So the youngsters at that concert may not have been familiar with Grass Roots hits like “Two Divided By Love” or “Midnight Confessions” or “Sooner or Later”, but most would probably recognize these bits of dialogue from the man whose exact job at the office will always remain a mystery.

Here are six of my favorite creeds from Creed, the anonymous star of The office.

Mmm, it smells like someone is making soup

Bratton made this comment after entering the work area where everyone was nauseated by the smelly surprise that best friend Todd Packer had left on the court for regional manager Michael Scott (played by Steve Carell).

He does not carry a wallet, I already checked it

This observation occurred while sales agent Dwight Shrute (played by Rainn Wilson) performed CPR on a mannequin and wondered aloud if the model was an organ donor.

Is this broadcast tonight? If my parents see this I’m toast

“AARM” is the title of an episode from the last season, where Jim convinces Dwight that he needs an assistant to the assistant regional manager.

I run a little fake ID machine from my car with a laminating machine that I got from the sheriff’s office

As employees approach the youth of Scranton, a horde of teenagers seems to be very familiar with Creed for the reason he reveals in the quote above.

Just go up and kiss her. Have I ever put you down, Jim?

Anyway, it wouldn’t have been good advice, but here Creed is offering it to Andy and not Jim.

Did you ever notice that you can only ooze two things, sexuality and pus

No one could clearly explain what led Creed to utter this observation, nor would most of us really want to know.
