Create a niche marketing website the right way

Avoid the mistakes I made when designing my first Niche marketing websites. Coming from a website design background, I built my first websites with the latest graphics, gadgets, and gizmos. The lesson I learned: Great website, but NO SALES

There are some common mistakes affiliate marketers make when designing a niche marketing website. Most consider them minor details, but they play a big role in sales conversions. So read on carefully and make sure you don’t when designing yours:

ADDING TOO MANY LINKS AND FLAGS

Adding unnecessary links and banners drives traffic away from your websites as it distracts viewers. There are some situations where they are unavoidable, but they should be avoided as much as possible.

For example, if you’ve written a book on “how to play better golf” and you’re trying to sell it through your website, you shouldn’t have a link to amazon.com at the top of your page. This is because Amazon doesn’t need your help to advertise. People all over the world are aware of it and trust it. If you put a link to Amazon on your home page, users will not only move to Amazon, but given the myriad of other options that Amazon will provide them, they will likely choose someone else’s book as well.

WEBSITE NAVIGATION
This is easy. “Just make it easy to find and easy to use.” Yes, that’s all you have to do with website navigation. Make it simple for users.

TOO MANY COLORS AND FONTS
Good websites have uniformity. This keeps viewers engaged and also gets your message across to them. Having too many colors and fonts makes it look like you are confused with your ideas and that is the last thing you want in this highly competitive market.

COLORED AND PATTERNED BACKGROUNDS
Make sure your background stays where it belongs: in the background. Refrain from using dark colors or too many patterns as it makes reading difficult and that is a big turn off for readers.

GRAPHICS AND IMAGES
Today, speed is everything. You need a website that looks like a breath of fresh air to do the trick. Just keep it simple and that’s all you need to make your website good. Adding numerous images and graphics has a small chance of making your website attractive, but a big chance of making your website a flop. Convincing sales copy beats Graphics a hundred times.

FLASH, AUDIO, VIDEO OR ANIMATED GIFS
If your visitors end up spending the first few seconds figuring out how to stop that unnecessary flash presentation or waiting for the graphics to load, you can be sure they won’t come back. Your job is to make sure your website is simple, yet attractive and informative. Graphics and other features should enhance the features of your product and illustrate the benefits, not make them difficult to spot.

So don’t try to create a website to win a design contest. Create a clean looking site that is easy to navigate. You have graphics that are only necessary for the site to promote your brand or enhance the promotion of the product or service you are selling and keep your customers glued to your site with great sales copy.
