Bathroom Remodel: Adding a New Sauna Room in Your Bathroom

When it comes to home improvement, many homeowners just like you want to do a bathroom remodeling project. Many homeowners love a large bathtub or want a large shower. Many newer homes already have them installed, along with beautiful countertops that in many cases will match the tub finish, or perhaps the bathroom floor tile or backsplash, but if you want to add something unique to a space already spacious, and well ornate master bathroom, then adding a new sauna room in your bathroom will do the trick.

There are a few options available when you’re looking to install a new sauna in your bathroom, but before we take a look at those options, we need to decide if this is a project that the average person with just a little experience with basic home improvement would do. they can undertake on their own. There are some home improvement books out there that can help with the completion of a home project like this bathroom remodel, but they may have some difficulty getting the job done without the help of a more experienced layman.

With that said, let’s look at the options available when it comes to adding a sauna room as a bathroom remodel project:

Pre-built saunas and saunas that are built from design plans are usually built using heat-treated planks of cedar, aspen, or aspen lumber. Depending on the type of pre-built sauna kit you purchase, your sauna can accommodate one or two people and have a large, expansive glass enclosure. There are also some kits that are a combination of sauna and shower. In the case of the sauna/shower unit, the bench that forms part of this unit simply folds down and you then have the option of taking a shower inside the spacious unit.

Another option is a steam shower. A steam shower can be a good alternative as a bathroom remodeling project, but it also comes with its own set of conditions that you, the homeowner, will have to deal with. Buying a steam generator is one part of the process, and the other part is having an enclosure built that can handle the amount of steam that will be generated and this will mean that you will have to get a contractor that can build a shower enclosure that is essentially vapor proof.

It then proceeds to the installation of the steam generating unit. In the end, this may or may not be less than the actual installation of a sauna kit, so as with any remodeling project, you need to do some price comparisons and decide what your budget can and cannot afford.

However, when this bathroom remodeling project is complete, you will not only be able to relax at the end of a very busy and hectic work day, but you will be able to do so in the privacy of your own bathroom sauna. Go ahead, sit back and just let the warm feeling surround you and feel invigorated.
