Hello everyone. Today’s episode of Yugioh 5Ds was mostly a flashback episode. But near the end there is some development!
So the episode picks up where the last one left off. With Yusei beating Jean. So Team Unicorn and Team Yusei (not 5D) become friends. Afterwards there is a celebration in the garage. At this point I realized something very interesting. People in the comments were still mad that Jean lost for doing something stupid. And I would agree too. However, in case no one noticed, YouTube has changed the design again and this time it looks very…awkward? Hopefully it’s an April Fool’s Day prank, but seriously, it’ll take some getting used to! Anyway, the celebrations were pretty fun as Jack’s harem of fangirls fight over him and he’s pretty cool. I like this episode because of its no-trick flashback nature. It’s important to have these kinds of episodes after a long game full of cheats.
After the flashbacks, Brueno feels weird and shuts down.
He arrives at the beach where he was found and sees a KITTEN! The cute kitty triggers a flashback and we see that it might have caused Bruno aka Dark Glass to crash and that indicates that Dark Glass almost hit him on the way.
Bruno ends up screaming and yelling and we move on to the next day where Team 5D (now Crow, Jack, and Yusei) rush to see Team Unicorn. Crow hopes Team Unicorn wins, but we’re treated to Jean and Andore on stretchers being carried away due to injuries from accidents.
Overall, this episode was pretty good.
First, there is the establishment: – Sherry is in a two person team with her butler and was the first runner in her match. – She also wins a 3 person team like Yusei. This means that a) She is Batman, b) she has cheating skills like Yusei or c) The writers want to promote her character. -Crow seemed to be assuming a bit in this episode, first with him assuming Sherry lost her round and second assuming Team Unicorn won theirs. Would this affect him in the next episode with him dueling? I don’t know. -We are given a hint that Dark Glass may be connected to the pod in Episode 93 and that he is a cyborg. – Team Catastrophe is established as skilled players who can make their opponents crash. This is important as we know that WRGP is based on a manual and an accident results in a loss. – We can also assume that Team Catastrophe uses Burn cards and that Black Feather Dragon will come into play later, since Crow will win the first 2 of the team.
Overall I get the feeling that Crow and Team Catastrophe are connected due to the fact that Team Catastrophe may be from Satellite in the past, it could be a reason why Crow was their intended target, could they have met Pearson in the past? last?
I also think it would be a bit pointless to extol Sherry’s prowess, since we know that Yusei will end up winning her.
I see it like this: Butler goes first and Jack and Crow wins or Aki Yusei wins Butler Yusei wins Sherry.
From the looks of it, the writers are hyping things up and scaling back so the main character becomes legendary like Yugi and Judai. This really wouldn’t work that well, because it’s been used over and over again, and seeing this “main character syndrome” in Series 3 is a bit tiring. Still, I enjoyed this episode, it was a well timed episode and we got a mention from the Infinity trio and from Jeager after the factory event. It also has Mikage going to find the Infinity trio, aka new directors.
I give this episode a solid 4.5 out of 5.
