An ideal is the best way to copy for a good model. Ideals are always hard to duplicate. Idols are followed by ideals. A house church has no such ideals or idols. It is a concept that God has given us in Mt 18:20. Two or three is the ideal number for a church. Church is the concept of God. The Old and the New had completely different views of God’s people.
The people of God come together in the New Testament because they are already the people of God. In the Old Testament they came together as a people and the church trained them through a ritual, ceremony or sacrifice to be the people of God. They reason that the Old Testament people of Israel came together first as a people of a nation and then to be accepted to worship the God of that nation.
They were not automatically qualified to appear before God. Every time they needed to be qualified through sacrifice. Sin separates them and only a blood sacrifice can put them to sleep for a while and bring them into the presence of God. This had to be repeated each time.
Tin the new testament that it was not. They should come together only after they have already been accepted by God. The only ritual, ceremony and sacrifice they needed was the death of Jesus Christ on the cross.
The cross brought people to God. They are accepted and belong forever to God. There is no reason for the rating to be accepted. They come together because they are accepted forever by God through the blood, the true Lamb of God forever. It is not necessary to repeat any sacrifice again. It is done once and for all. The ransomed, redeemed are the church.
The husband and wife team are already united by God in a union and are now qualified to be the first members of the church to start the assembly of God. The best way to bring a husband and wife together is to remind them of their love for God individually. They have believed as individuals in Jesus Christ as their Savior. You have made a lot of commitment and promises to God as individuals.
The local church altar will bring all that individuality together to merge and become one. It is a difficult and very sensitive and delicate stage in their relationship. But this is the best thing that will happen to you in Christ Jesus.
