How do I know if renting a villa in Italy is the best option for me?
It is true that renting a house is not a good overnight solution. When you plan to rent a villa, you should think about staying for at least a week or even longer. But if you want to stay less, there are owners who rent them for 2-3 days, especially out of season. Additionally, villas that are perceived as bed and breakfast venues may also allow for shorter rental periods.
Renting a villa is also the right choice for smaller groups, large families or a circle of friends. If you only plan to stay for a short time, you can decide to rent an apartment (in the city or separated as a unit in a large villa).
What surprises should I expect?
First of all, don’t think about the hotel services (sheets will be changed weekly, there will be no reception and sometimes you won’t even have dryers or washing machines). It is better to ask in advance.
How much will it cost me to rent a villa in Italy?
The prices depend a lot on the location, the size, the degree of luxury and the way in which people decide to share the account. It costs less for a group of at least 4 to share a villa compared to a couple renting the same place.
Daily rates per person start around $15 or $25 (for those hosting more people) and are most often around $50, up to $100.
Before proceeding with the reservation, you must ask what taxes are included in the total price (you must have normal utilities included: water, gas, electricity). If you have additional requests such as phone chargers or heating, you should speak directly with the owners.
Tenants are also expected to pay a deposit ranging from 10-30% of the cost and a cleaning fee ($35-150).
